Jacqueline G. Lapidus, Psy.D., Executive Director

 Since 2001

Jackie was named Executive Director of Care Management Associates in 2010. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. In addition to her work as a care management clinical supervisor, she has over 20 years of experience in the area of loss and bereavement, providing services to hospice families and patients and to family members of people diagnosed with life limiting illnesses. She also has private practice experience in the treatment of anxiety disorders and depression. Jackie has conducted workshops for people dealing with loss, either as bereaved individuals or as care providers. She has written on such topics as suicide and the experiences of descendants of Holocaust survivors and descendants of Nazi perpetrators. She co-authored a book on marriage and family therapy.

Jackie also has experience locally and nationally as a volunteer disaster/crisis responder and trainer. She has responded to families, businesses, government offices, and communities in the aftermath of traumatic events and was particularly active in Washington immediately following the terrorist and anthrax attacks of 2001. She received the American Psychological Association Presidential Citation for this work. In recognition of her leadership and professional advocacy of victims of trauma in the Washington area, Jackie received the 2003 National Association of Social Workers' Distinguished Service Award.

A graduate of George Washington University, Jackie received her Master’s degree from Boston University, and her doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Psychology. Prior to her work in psychology, she served as an officer of the Albany Savings Bank in upstate New York.

Susan Proctor, MSW

Since 2003

Susan is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She has worked in the Washington, DC metro area for more than 20 years in hospitals – George Washington, Suburban, National Naval Medical Center, providing direct patient services, supervision of services, development of policies and procedures as well as patient education materials. She most recently provided direct services for hospice patients with The Community Hospices of Washington.

Susan was also a member of a mental health team that provided counseling and support services to the military and civilian Pentagon community following the terrorist attacks of 2001.

Susan holds a Master’s degree in social work from Catholic University of America and a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Joanne E. Evans, RN

Since 2006

Joanne Evans is a Certified Care Manager and Registered Nurse licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. She has worked in the Washington, DC metro area for more than 20 years in hospitals, nursing homes, and home health settings including at The George Washington University Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital, Washington Hospital Center and The Washington Home. She was on staff at The National Center for Phobias, Anxiety and Depression where she provided counseling to individuals and groups.

As a home care nurse with Potomac Home Health Care, Joanne conducted in-depth client assessments and provided care management services. While with Professional Healthcare Resources, she interfaced with local hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and physicians to provide client care.

A graduate of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree. She is a member of the American Nurse’s Association.

Anita Rothwell, RN, MSN

Since 2009

Anita Rothwell is a Registered Nurse and has worked in the Washington, DC metro area for over 20 years. Anita’s clinical experience includes working as a staff nurse at Georgetown University Hospital on the medical-surgical-psychiatric floor and as an Adult Nurse Practitioner at the Neurology Center in Chevy Chase, Rockville, and Wheaton and at Kaiser Permanente Neurology Department in Kensington. As a nurse practitioner, she specialized in the care of those with chronic neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and headache management. Anita also served as co-investigator for several research protocols.

Anita earned her BSN at the University of Texas at Austin and her MSN in the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

Clare Hume, RN

Since 2001

Clare is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Personal Exercise Trainer. She is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing with highest distinction). Clare worked at Children's Hospital National Medical Center as a staff nurse. She spent many years advocating for and managing the care of a family member.

Clare became a Certified Personal Trainer in July 2001 and updates her skills with workshops on Senior Fitness. Her goals are to help seniors stay independent longer and feel emotionally and physically healthy.

Amy Silver, MSW

Since 2010

Amy Silver is a social worker licensed in Maryland. Amy has worked with seniors and their families in a variety of settings, including a community center, an independent living facility, and in a home health and care management firm in New Jersey. In each of these settings, she conducted assessments, provided supportive consulting, and connected clients to available resources.

Amy received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College, has a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Aging from Columbia University, and a Masters in American History from American University.

Amy brings a business background to her social work experience. Prior to her career in social work, she worked for many years in higher education administration. 

Lisa F. Lederman, MSW

Since 2006

Lisa Lederman provides a broad range of geriatric social work services, having worked for over 15 years in hospital and nursing home social work. Her experience includes providing supportive counseling and crisis intervention to clients and families and educating clients and families on advance directives, home care services, and community resources.

Lisa spent nearly three years as a social worker at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville, MD, where she served on several Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Units. Her work for long-term care included providing social work services to moderate care, heavy care, and dementia patients.

Previously, she spent five years as a social worker and supervisor at Coler-Goldwater Memorial Hospital in New York City, where she worked on the Rehabilitation, Nursing, Special Care, Ventilator, AIDS, and Medical Units.

Lisa received her Masters of Social Work and a Certificate in Jewish Communal Service from The Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Concordia University in Montreal. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is fluent in French and Hebrew.

Sam Floyd

Since 2007

Sam Floyd, Associate Care Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. She volunteered at numerous school and community related organizations while raising her children. Having spent several years providing care for family members with multiple age-related illnesses, she is sensitive to the needs of patients and their families.

Dixie St. John, MA

Since 2007

Dixie St. John, Associate Care Manager, holds a Master’s degree in Human Sciences with a specialization in Helping Relationships. She also holds a certificate in Thanatology (Death and Dying) and has provided end-of-life care and support. Dixie teaches college-level psychology and has professional experience in research, marketing and human resources.

 

Sue Proser, Office Manager

 Since 2000

Sue began her career at the Postal Service as a clerk and became a Postmaster, then moved to the USPS Headquarters in the Information Resource Management Department. Sue served as Executive Director of the District of Columbia Psychological Association, DCPA. Her skills with computers has developed into both a vocation and an avocation. She has a special interest in the experiences and health care needs of people with organ transplants.
